Arduino Nano – “avrdude: ser_open():system can’t open device “\\.\COM1″: the system cannot find the file specified”

This is how I solved the problem. In Device Manager you will find the Arduino COM port.

Go to the Advanced properties of the port

Set the COM port number to COM1.

Then replug the USB.
