I want a to be rounded to 13.95. The round function does not work the way I expected.
A “floating point number” is how computers usually represent numbers that are not integers — basically, a number with a decimal point. In C++ you declare them with float instead of int. A floating point exception is an error that occurs when you try to do something impossible with a floating point number, such as … Read more
I have finally got the patience to use Python again and I am trying some math stuff to get back in, but I am now trying to make a Python script and it came up with the “float’ object is not subscriptable’ error. Again, I have just got back into Python and I have no … Read more
“%f” is the (or at least one) correct format for a double. There is no format for a float, because if you attempt to pass a float to printf, it’ll be promoted to double before printf receives it1. “%lf” is also acceptable under the current standard — the l is specified as having no effect … Read more
You’re probably dividing by zero or some other nonsensical number. Are you sure real and imag for IFFTOutput[i] isn’t zero? Print it out just before perhaps?
In Java, when you type a decimal number as 3.6, its interpreted as a double. double is a 64-bit precision IEEE 754 floating point, while floatis a 32-bit precision IEEE 754 floating point. As a float is less precise than a double, the conversion cannot be performed implicitly. If you want to create a float, you should end your number with f (i.e.: 3.6f).
Obviously some of your lines don’t have valid float data, specifically some line have text id which can’t be converted to float. When you try it in interactive prompt you are trying only first line, so best way is to print the line where you are getting this error and you will know the wrong … Read more
