Case insensitive regular expression without re.compile?

Pass re.IGNORECASE to the flags param of search, match, or sub:

re.search('test', 'TeSt', re.IGNORECASE)
re.match('test', 'TeSt', re.IGNORECASE)
re.sub('test', 'xxxx', 'Testing', flags=re.IGNORECASE)
