Making the HTML list to a checkbox tree with the plugin jstree [closed]

This worked for me. Basically jquery was missing through

<script 
src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.12.1/jquery.min.js">
</script>

and the wrong PHP tags. Thanks for that.
