/* Do something with the data entered */ add_action( ‘save_post’, ‘myplugin_save_postdata’ ); /* When the post is saved, saves our custom data */ function myplugin_save_postdata( $post_id ) { // First we need to check if the current user is authorised to do this action. if ( ‘page’ == $_POST[‘post_type’] ) {// checks for post type. … Read more
I’m too new to be able to add a comment, but $post_id looks like it’s undefined. You’ll need to set it, one way is to grab it from the global $post object like so: add_action(‘genesis_after_header’, ‘mbr_after_header’); function mbr_after_header() { global $post; if ( is_singular( ‘post’ ) ) $cf = get_post_meta( $post->ID, ‘mbr_customfield’, true ); if(empty($cf)) … Read more
Have you looked into the shortcode API? It has some very powerful tools to add as many array items as you’d like, and put the shortcode anywhere on your site. Here is a small demo of what you could do: function create_shortcode( $atts, $content = null ) { $a = shortcode_atts( array( ‘sauna’ => ‘attribute1’, … Read more
you could apply the content filters: echo do_shortcode( “[av_button label=””.apply_filters(“the_content’,(get_sub_field(‘speaker_file_label’)).”‘ link=’manually,”.get_sub_field (‘speaker_file_url’).”‘ link_target=”_blank” size=”medium” position=’left’ color=”theme-color”]” ).'<br>’; the above added pp marks <p></p> try this: echo do_shortcode( “[av_button label=””.wptexturize( get_sub_field(“speaker_file_label’)).”‘ link=’manually,”.get_sub_field (‘speaker_file_url’).”‘ link_target=”_blank” size=”medium” position=’left’ color=”theme-color”]” ).'<br>’;
either change the field type to text and echo it out as you currently are or remove the tag and echo out the link as is: <button class=”claim-button”><?php echo CFS()->get( ‘tracking_url’ ); ?></button> http://customfieldsuite.com/field-types/hyperlink.html OR (and this would be my choice if I was you) Switch to ACF and use that for all your custom … Read more
I found a better workaround using the same filter suggested by @ben-casey in his answer. Firstly I registered throuhg register_rest_field all the custom fields of all the user types I have in the database. Then in rest_prepare_user, insted adding the wanted fields, I removed the unwanted ones. In this way I can still use the … Read more
In dynamic_dropdown_func(), at the end try echo $event_dates; instead of return $event_dates;. Also, I’m wondering why you declare global $wpdb; when you don’t seem to use it?
This is the way WordPress does it: SELECT wp_posts.* FROM wp_posts LEFT JOIN wp_postmeta ON ( wp_posts.ID = wp_postmeta.post_id AND wp_postmeta.meta_key = ‘custom_field’ ) WHERE wp_postmeta.post_id IS NULL You can do this with WP_Query meta_query and ‘compare’ => ‘NOT EXISTS’.
I would suggest trying not to over-complicate the logic. You have the general thought process correct in your question. Assuming everything above works when you just add the meta_query logic to the query directly and run it, then your code should try to follow that same thought pattern. You’re accessing the globals – so list … Read more
ACF 5.6+ intentionally removes the custom fields metabox to improve performance when loading posts. To display the metabox, add this to functions.php in your theme: add_filter( ‘acf/settings/remove_wp_meta_box’, ‘__return_false’ ); In addition to the above code, make sure that the custom fields metabox is enabled in Screen Options at the top of a post, and that … Read more
