Okay, I ended up using the Google XML Sitemap plugin. You can input the post id’s of the pages you want excluded from the sitemap. I excluded the pages with null links and now Google accepts the sitemap.
Apparently, there’s no way. UPDATE! Joost De Valk, the author of WordPress SEO by Yoast, modified how the plugin works on my request in the plugin’s support forums. So, problem solved!
You should be able to merely create a page with your custom template and then select it as your “static” front page. Just leave the posts page option blank if this page displays your posts anyways.
