If you look at the Codex for WP_Query you will notice that orderby is not a valid parameter for a meta_query, nor is order, and in fact nor is meta_key. But even if that were sorted out, I don’t think you can do what you are trying to do with WP_Query. A meta_query is a … Read more
There are similar posts on this site about the same topic, if you look around. But here is your answer: To make this work you need to change your date format. You can sort alphabetically, or numerically, not calender-merically. The only human date format that orders correctly is YYYY/MM/DD. The separator are optional and shouldn’t … Read more
Is it possible to do a custom query and convert it to a standard WP_Query object? Yes. You can do something like… $post_ids = $wpdb->get_col(“SELECT ID FROM {$wpdb->posts} WHERE ….”); $posts_qry = new WP_Query(array(‘post__in’=> $posts_ids,’orderby’ => ‘post__in’)); The second query will preserve the order of results from the first. I am fairly sure that you … Read more
After thinking about the problem, I found the simplest solution, do a direct query using $wpdb in archive-{post-type}.php <?php global $wpdb; $meta_key = get_query_var(‘publisher’); $result = $wpdb->get_results(” SELECT * FROM ” . $wpdb->prefix. “postmeta_books WHERE publisher LIKE ‘%$meta_key%’ “); foreach( $result as $results ) { echo $results->publisher; echo ‘<br/>’; } ?> It is the basic … Read more
A couple things, Make sure in your save_post hook you’re checking for DOING_AJAX which is used for saving in quick-edit. Check out my other question: Quick edit screen customization. The answer I received worked, but I haven’t actually implemented it into my plugin quite yet as it’s not a priority of mine yet. Hope that … Read more
this was asked before, but sadly the “Insert/edit link” (with interlinking) was developed as a tinymce plugin so using it outside of tinymce is not really possible unless your write the whole thing from scratch.
As of WordPress 3.4.1, there is no way, out of the box, to order by multiple meta values. Since we can’t do it cleanly, we’ll have to hack something together. We can hook into posts_orderby to manually modify the ordering. It’s not altogether pretty, but it will get the job done. Here’s an example: add_filter(‘posts_orderby’, … Read more
One possibility is a direct SQL query similar to the one given here. But I’m not convinced that it would be much more efficient than 2 queries, all handled by WordPress: The is untested $price =0; //Price of current property $id=0; //Property (post) ID. $args = array( ‘post_type’ => ‘property’, ‘post__not_in’=>array($id), ‘posts_per_page’=> 2, ‘meta_query’ => … Read more
The auto-save that is running is searching for a field with name=”post_content”. I believe a quick fix to you’re problem would be to add a hidden field like this: <input type=”hidden” name=”post_content” value=”” /> This might allow the auto-save to function by simply inserting an empty string for the post_content field of wp_posts table. I … Read more
I had the same question a couple of weeks ago. Here’s what I did to make it work for me. How Do I Use WP_Query to Run This Database Query as Search Result? If you’ll read through my answer that I posted for reference’s sake, you’ll see that I ended up adding a filter add_filter(‘post_request’,’your_function_name’); … Read more
