Are you just trying to display the post thumbnail in the homepageFeatured size? if so, try: echo get_the_post_thumbnail($post->ID, ‘homepageFeatured’); In your loop.
I do not know of a way and I dont think thats possible, but why not just use a wordpress gallery that gives you the option to have captions below the images?
