I don’t think you need to get the list of authors in a given category or use a bunch of individual WP_Query‘s, you just need to order posts by author and check to see when the author changes. Two parts to this. One to modify the loop on category pages to order by author. You … Read more
The Basics Columns are managed by CSS. So if you’re using a css framework, like Bootstrap, Blueprint CSS or any other, than you’ve some classes that you can add to an article/post container, so that they float in the desired amount of columns. Blueprint CSS In the case of Blueprint Css, this might be span-8 … Read more
Add a static variable to the shortcode handler to check if the shortcode has been called already. Sample code add_shortcode( ‘wpse62826’, ‘wpse_62826_shortcode’ ); function wpse_62826_shortcode() { static $done = FALSE; // Nothing to do. if ( $done ) { return; } if ( is_singular() ) { $done = TRUE; } return ‘<b>I run once on … Read more
Don’t use query_posts(). Don’t modify the main loop query from within the template. You may be able to get a single query to provide what you need (e.g. by filtering pre_get_posts and groupby), but more than likely, you will need to iterate 12 custom loops using WP_Query(). Perhaps something like this: // Get all the … Read more
Aha, I think my syntax was wrong. I changed: action: ‘do_ajax’, data: { ‘post_id’ : ’72’ //using a post id that I *know* has comments, for testing! }, to: data: { ‘action’ : ‘do_ajax’, ‘post_id’ : ’72’ }, and I’m getting the correct response from the console.log which shows: [{“comment_ID”:”1″,”comment_post_ID”:”1″,”comment_author”:”Mr WordPress”,”comment_author_email”:””,”comment_author_url”:”http:\/\/wordpress.org\/”,”comment_author_IP”:””,”comment_date”:”2012-08-28 19:55:20″,”comment_date_gmt”:”2012-08-28 19:55:20″,”comment_content”:”Hi, this is … Read more
another possibility: if( $wp_query->current_post < $wp_query->post_count-1 ) echo ‘<hr />’;
No. echo do_shortcode() is a function call. You can not pass a conditional statement as an argument of a function. What you need to do is pass in the returned result of your query as an argument of the function; //assuming you have taken care of your query prior to this point if ( have_posts() … Read more
So you have two loops : the main loop and the second one using $query. You want to compare if at some point of your second loop there’s a match between current post (inside the loop) and the processed post inside the $query loop. Am I right ? Instead of checking permalinks I would propose … Read more
posts_nav_link is intended for archive pages. That function uses get_next_posts_nav_link which uses the global variable $wp_query. There is a check for !is_singular(). That will always be false on your “static” page, since $wp_query will represent the page (single) and not the query you have created. So, yes, it is because it is a static page. … Read more
I will also add that this is a custom post type, but that shouldn’t matter. In fact, this is your problem. By default, the Category Archive Index will only query posts from the post post-type. You need to tell WordPress to do otherwise, by adding your custom post type to the query via pre_get_posts: function … Read more
