I removed the csproj.user files and it worked for me. In some other cases, to fix this error, I go to Web tab in the project properties and check “Use Visual Studio Development Server” and “Auto-assign Port”. After that I need to rebuild the project and restart VS

In most places where you can use those, there’s a “Macros” button or similar, which shows all available macros and the current value of them. For example, go to the PostBuild event editor to find the list. Edit: I just checked. There’s a list in MSDN.

I got TWO Release folders: one in the solution folder and one in the project folder. The former contains the .exe file, the latter does not.
You may want to right-click on the file in the tree, and delete it from the project. Then, add back an existing item. Hopefully that will fix the problem.
