This method also restricts you to specific IPs which can be annoying if you wish to access it from a different office/location. The answer was the following: Changing the table names to the correct prefix during the migration was not enough, you have to go into the wp_options table and change wp_user_roles (option id 92) to use the correct prefix as well. You can disable caching plugin by delete or rename the plugin folder. If it doesn’t work then you can try access the database via phpMyAdmin, then go to users table and click edit. Input a new password to password field and choose function as MD5 and save.
