@Milo was absolutely correct…the issue was that I wasn’t getting a string to compare. The solution actually came from here. Are you using a checkbox or similar for the ‘acf_platform’ field using ACF for more than one selection? Advanced Custom Fields stores these as a serialised array, so a meta_query with ‘compare’ => ‘=’ may not work. Instead of if (is_admin()) add_action(‘admin_menu’, ‘add_custom_box’); use add_action(‘add_meta_boxes’, ‘add_custom_box’); The ‘add_meta_boxes’ hook is the correct one to add meta boxes. Other than that, as you mentioned correctly change the ‘post’ to ‘$my-custom-post-type’ and register the category taxonomy for that post type: register_taxonomy_for_object_type( ‘category’, ‘$my-custom-post-type’ )
You should call your file taxonomy-interview_category.php to be automatically associated with your custom taxonomy. If you want it to look like interview archive, you can just include archive-interview.php in your newly created taxonomy-interview_category.php.
