I had the same problem. From my log file I can see its breaking on the query that returns the posts. I managed to get this working by going to “wp-includes\query.php”, and then removing the $limits variable from the query. It seems that this is breaking on sql server. Find this line: $this->request = ” … Read more
Go resave your Permalink settings to correct the .htaccess file. Multisite systems have a slightly different .htaccess configuration. Specifically, they have this line in them: # uploaded files RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?files/(.+) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$2 [L] That lets the /files/whatever URLs get routed to the proper location. Edit: sorry, just noticed you’re using ISAPI Rewrite. Create a new rewrite … Read more
As per this issue on the WordPress trac, the problem are the rules 4 and 5. The solution is to change the url parameter and add 1, so, instead of this: <rule name=”WordPress Rule 4″ stopProcessing=”true”> <match url=”^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?(wp-(content|admin|includes).*)” ignoreCase=”false” /> <action type=”Rewrite” url=”{R:1}” /> </rule> <rule name=”WordPress Rule 5″ stopProcessing=”true”> <match url=”^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?(.*\.php)$” ignoreCase=”false” /> <action … Read more
I am not entirely sure that it would work with sub-sub-domains. 🙂 Most of your requirements (IIS aside) seem very manageable: consistent design would be easy to achieve with shared theme (or several child themes if required); users can be easily assigned to multiple sites, using single login and account (through editing site in Network … Read more
Figured out the issue. It was with the generated “WordPress Rule 6”. It was giving 2 identical regex expressions. Removed the extra regex expression. Also had to remove “WordPress Rule 5”. Renumber the rules and now everything works fine. Here’s the updated web.config: <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?> <configuration> <system.webServer> <rewrite> <rules> <rule name=”WordPress Rule 1″ stopProcessing=”true”> … Read more
You should be able to configure the URL that WP uses for the links in the backend, at Settings->General.
After struggling for a while in the web.config structure. I found out we need to clear the rule before to add another rule. Just add tag </clear> <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?> <configuration> <system.webServer> <rewrite> <rules> <clear/> <rule name=”wordpress” patternSyntax=”Wildcard”> <match url=”*”/> <conditions> <add input=”{REQUEST_FILENAME}” matchType=”IsFile” negate=”true”/> <add input=”{REQUEST_FILENAME}” matchType=”IsDirectory” negate=”true”/> </conditions> <action type=”Rewrite” url=”index.php”/> </rule> </rules> … Read more
Have you verified permissions on the upload_tmp_dir (C:\Temp)? It’s possible that the upload is actually failing there rather than in the destination directory.
I worked through this problem myself with the help of a forum mod on wordpress.org. You can see the full forum post here.
