If I visit your first link and look at the response, I get a 500 Internal Server Error when trying to get the following resource: http://designportugal.net/wp-content/themes/dt-nimble/timthumb.php?src=/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/drpedrocoelho.png&zc=1&w=30&h=30 so my guess is that your problem is with the timthumb plugin. Try disabling the plugin and see if your error goes away.
If you are trying to optimize the images uploaded, I would try using this plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-smushit/ I use it on my image heavy sites to upload all past and future uploaded images.
Regenerate Thumbnails won’t do this for you. It simply builds all new sizes from your upload archives. The next image insertions will have the correct image source. Install Regenerate Thumbnails. Run it once, and see if your images are being generated. Feel free to keep the plugin installed for future use. (it won’t break anything if you do uninstall it after you’re done)
