The third parameter to load_plugin_textdomain function should only be the plugin name suffixed with the language folder. It does not need the absolute path to the language folder. For e.g. in my scenario, the correct parameter is: load_plugin_textdomain( ‘bgm’, false, basename(__DIR__) . ‘/languages/’);

If the plugin is alreayd activated, then you cannot network activate it. because you already turned it on. Turn it off. Network activate it. You still have to configure it for each blog.

I don’t think there is one. The only difference with BuddyPress on multsite verses single is.. .the users get blogs. As for the buddypress theme itself. The bp template pack shows exactly what template files are used as extra. They are all labeled according to their use.
Go resave your Permalink settings to correct the .htaccess file. Multisite systems have a slightly different .htaccess configuration.
